Path of Exile Currency

In Path of Exile, like most ARPG/MMO games, there is a primary currency called Gold that players use to buy equipment and items from vendors. However, there are a variety of other items called “Currency” that allow for special modifications to gear, maps, Atlas, Fragments, or characters themselves. These Currencies are generally used in combination with other items to achieve a desired effect or are needed to complete recipes. The different types of PoE Currency can be found in the game, either as a reward for killing monsters or by trading with other players.

These currency items center on various scrolls and orbs that players can use to modify their equipment, maps or even rebuild their passive skill tree. They also act as the primary means of trading with other players in the game. While some of these items can be obtained for free from the game, others are extremely valuable and can be a large part of the gaming experience.

The most common PoE Currency items are the Orbs that give a random affix to a specific item. These are some of the most sought-after items in the game as they can often make a high tier item into a legendary piece. They can be gathered from monster drops, dropped by map bosses, or by trading with other players.

Other important currency items include Shards and fragments that can be stacked into larger currency items. For example, 20 Alchemy Shards can be combined into an Orb of Alchemy. These are necessary to craft some of the more powerful endgame equipment. In addition, shards and fragments can be traded with other players or sold to vendors.

Essences are another type of important poe currency buy that can be used to modify equipment. These can turn normal equipment into rare equipment or upgrade rare equipment to a higher level. These can be obtained from monsters, in chests or destructible containers found in maps and the Azurite Mine, from Zana's missions, or from crafting recipes.

Eternal Orbs are another highly sought-after item that can be used to create an imprint on a rare item. Once used, the imprint can be reverted to its original state by using another Eternal Orb or Regal Orb. They can be gathered from monsters and chests, and also drop from the Pinnacle Bosses. However, since the start of the Awakening expansion, Eternal Orbs have become a legacy item and no longer drop.

Finally, there are the more specialized currency items such as Mirror of Kalandra that can be used to make an exact copy of any unique item. This can be extremely useful for building a powerful endgame build as it can replace high-value uniques that are too expensive to obtain. This item is so rare that there are players who have been playing since the closed beta and have never seen one drop.
